Darling Diva Polish – Wild Child

Hello, there! After a very long and awful week, here I am with my Fantabulous Darling Diva Fest! Today we’re swooning over Wild Child, inspired by The Doors (if I’m not mistaken). Ah, this is my kind of polish. It’s a gorgeous mix of neon glitters in different sizes and colors with tiny iridescent glitter in a slightly tinted base. It is pretty wild! I decided to wear it over Barielle Pink Flip Flops, but I think it will look great over black, white, yellow, light blue and other cremes. I’m going to try all the possible combinations, just wait! The outcome of this mani was super girlie and playful. I love it! Here you can see two coats of Pink Flip Flops and two coats of Wild Child with one coat of top coat. I didn’t need more, it was super smooth.

¡Hola a todos! Después de una semana muy larga y horrenda, ¡acá estoy con mi Festival Fabuloso de Darling Diva! Hoy vamos a babearnos con Wild Child (inspirado por The Doors, si no me equivoco). ¡Este es mi glitter perfecto! Es una mezcla divina de glitters neón en diferentes tamaños y colores con glitter tornasolados chiquitos en una base ligeramente coloreada. ¡Es muy salvaje! Decidí usarlo arriba de Pink Flip Flops de Barielle, pero creo que queda genial con negro, blanco, amarillo, celeste y otros cremosos. Voy a probar todas las combinaciones posibles, ¡esperen nomás! El resultado de esta mani fue muy femenino y alegre. ¡Me encanta! Acá pueden ver dos capas de Pink Flip Flops, dos de Wild Child con una de top coat. No necesitaba más que eso, quedó super liso.

For some moments, I wanted to eat my nails. Don’t you think they look like the top of a cupcake or something? Wearing Wild Child made my week bearable and that’s just great!

En algunos momentos como que me quería comer las uñas. ¿No creen que parecen como la parte de arriba de una cupcake o algo así? Usar Wild Child hizo que mi semana fuera  soportable, ¡y eso es genial!

Vacations

This is a quick post to let you all know that I’m leaving for vacations to a little place called Villa Ventana for a week or so. If the wifi is decent, I might post at least once, because of course I’m going to paint my nails! If the wifi fails, I’ll post them when I get back.

My New Year’s mani is a simple one. I wanted to add some water marble, but I ruined it. So this is what I’ve been wearing since Saturday: A England Avalon (two coats) and China Glaze Glitter All The Way (three coats). They’re a fantastic match.

Mi manicura de Año Nuevo es una simple. Quería agreglarle un marmolado, pero lo arruiné. Así que esto es lo que estoy usando desde el sábado: Avalon de A England (dos capas) y Glitter All The Way de China Glaze (tres capas). Son una combinación fantástica.

Funny thing, yesterday while watching Merlin’s series finale (spoilers ahead, sort of) I realized that while the characters were heading to Avalon I was wearing that polish! Ah, I love these silly coincidences…

Lo gracioso es que ayer, mientras veía el final de Merlín (spoilers, aunque no tanto), me di cuenta de que los personajes estaban yendo a Avalon mientras yo usaba ese esmalte. Me encantan estas coincidencias tontas…

Tess D’Urbervilles

It’s no surprise that I’m in love with Tess (the polish; I’m not that familiar with the character yet). It’s a different formula from the other A England polishes I’ve tried. It dries very opaque, but when you apply a topcoat it’s a whole different thing. As you might know, it’s black with an emerald shimmer, and I find it very vampy and elegant at the same time. It’s surely a Gothic Beauty! And my niece approved it! It’s all that matter! :P

No es sorpresa que estoy enamorada de Tess (del esmalte: todavía no conozco mucho al personaje). La fórmula es distinta a la de otros esmaltes de A England que probé. Cuando se seca es muy opaco, pero cuando aplicás un topcoat queda muy distinto. Como deben saber, es negro con un shimmer esmeralda, y me parece muy vampirezco y elegante al mismo tiempo. ¡Es toda una belleza gótica! ¡Y mi sobrina lo aprobó! ¡Es lo único que importa! :P

I took a lot of pictures, but for some wicked reason, my camera phone caught the green shimmer a lot better than my actual camera.

Saqué muchas fotos, pero por alguna razón retorcida, el shimmer verde se ve mucho mejor en la foto que saqué con el celular.

I was intending to do something Christmassy, but that’s all I got. I quite like it, though.

Happy Hobbit Week!

Tomorrow I’m watching The Hobbit and a Tolkien-ish mani was a must. I had a lot of ideas but no of them worked! So I did the first runes of The Desolation of Smaug. The polishes are Positivo’s Beige Metalizado, China Glaze’s Red Satin and A England’s Camelot -all mattified.

Mañana voy a ver El Hobbit y tenía que hacerme las uñas a lo Tolkien sí o sí. Tenía muchos ideas, pero ninguna funcionó. Así que me hice las primeras runas de La Desolación de Smaug. Los esmaltes son Beige Metalizado (Positivo), Red Satin (China Glaze) y Camelot (A England); todos en matte.

Holiday Charms

I bought this lovely mini set on Head2Toe Beauty. Their service is flawless, I love them! I knew I wanted Christmassy colours, but I had a hard time deciding which ones. So this set is perfect for me: it has green, glitter and two really nice reds that I didn’t have in my stash. And the price was super affordable considering there are four polishes!

Compré este mini set en Head2Toe Beauty. Su servicio es impecable, ¡los amo! Sabía que quería colores navideños, pero me costó mucho decidirme cuáles. Así que este set es perfecto para mí: tiene verde, glitter y dos rojos re lindos que no tenía todavía. Y el precio fue muy razonable considerado que son cuatro esmaltes.

Merry Berry: Maybe the least exciting of the set for me, but still it’s really nice shade. I’m wearing two coats, no topcoat. It’s very dark and classy, actually.

Red Satin: I can’t understand why I didn’t have something like this in my stash. It’s just beautiful and super red.  I’m wearing two coats, no topcoat.

Winter Holly: A dream came true. It’s like a Christmas tree in your nails. Simply perfect. I’m wearing three coats, no topcoat. Maybe two thick coats can be enough to make it opaque. After taking the pictures, I applied topcoat over it, but it’s still rough. I don’t mind it, tough. For layering, maybe apply a super thin coat. I’m going to play with that later.

Glitter All The Way: It’s New Year’s Eve in your nails! Perfect for layering, but stunning on its own. I’m wearing three coats, no topcoat. Same for Winter Holly, maybe two thick coats will do. I think I’m going to have a lot of fun with it!

Merry Berry: A lo mejor es el esmalte menos emocionante del set para mí, pero igual es un color muy lindo. Estoy usando dos capas, sin topcoat. Es muy oscuro y elegante.

Red Satin: No entiendo por qué no tenía algo así en mi colección. Es hermoso y súper rojo. Estoy usando dos capas, sin topcoat.

Winter Holly: Un sueño hecho realidad. Es como tener un arbolito de Navidad en las uñas. Es simplemente perfecto. Estoy usando tres capas, sin topcoat. A lo mejor dos capas gruesas cubrirían bien. Después de sacarme las fotos, me puse un topcoat, pero igual quedó rugoso. Igual no me molesta. Para usar encima de otros colores habría que poner una capa muy fina. Voy a jugar con eso más tarde.

Glitter All The Way: ¡Es como tener la víspera de Año Nuevo en las uñas! Es perfecto para usar encima de otros colores, pero solito es impresionante. Estoy usando tres capas, sin topcoat. Lo mismo que con Winter Holly, a lo mejor dos capas gruesas son suficientes. ¡Creo que me voy a divertir mucho con este!

Have you ever seen Buffy? Well, I’m a hardcore Whedonite, and I’ve always loved how Drusilla used to wear a French manicure over black, blue, bright or dark red. It’s just SO perfect!

¿Alguna vez vieron Buffy? Bueno, yo soy una Whedonita hardcore, y siempre me encantó que Drusilla usara una francesita sobre negro, azul o rojo brillante u oscuro. ¡Es perfecto! 

A few years ago my cousin did my nails with this style in blue. I loved it! Unfortunately, I can’t find the pic anywhere. But here my most recent attempt…

It was a disaster! The white wouldn’t paint over A England’s Perceval and then the glue of the tape I used got stuck in the nails! But at least it’s pretty decent if you don’t look at it very much lol

I would love to hear your recommendations on good white polishes!

¡Fue un desastre! El blanco no quería pintar sobre Perceval (A England) y después el pegamento de la cinta que usé se quedó pegado en las uñas. Pero por lo menos parece decente si no lo mirás mucho xD

Pink French

The other day I was thinking that it’s been a while since I wore China Glaze’s Luxe and Lush. It’s a fascinating flakie (the first and only I’ve tried, actually), but I kind of ruined my mani trying to mix too many elements.

El otro día estaba pensando en que hace mucho que no uso Luxe and Lush de China Glaze. Es un flakie fascinante (el primero y único que probé), pero medio que arruiné la mani intentando mezclar muchos elementos.

First, I did a French mani with a random soft pink and put some dots with my dotting tool. I should have stopped here, or not done the dots.

Primero hice una francesita con un rosa claro (lo compré en Todo Moda) e hice algunos puntos con la dotting tool. Tendría que haber parado ahí o no haber hechos los puntitos.

Then I added one coat of Luxe and Lush and another of Positivo’s Coral Gibre. This last polish is a lovely pink sheer with pink, orange and golden glitter. You can’t appreciate it in the pics because Luxe and Lush took over everything, and you can barely see the dots. This will teach me not to mess with Luxe and Lush lol

Después agregué una capa de Luxe and Lush y otra de Coral Gibre de Positivo (lo compré en Unicenter). Este último es un esmalte rosa traslúcido con glitters dorados, naranjas y rosas. No se puede apreciar en las fotos porque Luxe and Lush es muy dominante (?), apenas se pueden ver los puntitos. Esto me va a enseñar a no joder con Luxe and Lush lol

It’s not that bad, but it wasn’t what I wanted. I don’t know what I wanted either. Before taking it off, I tried it matte, and the effect was actually nice and soft.

No quedó tan mal, pero no es lo que quería. Tampoco sé qué quería. Antes de sacármelo, lo probé con matte, y el efecto fue lindo y suave.

Laziest blogger ever

That’s me… But I also have been really busy with exams! I’m going to show you my nails during these past three weeks.

A England’s Tristam and Kleancolor’s Grand Finale. At first, I wasn’t in love with Grand Finale. Glitter bars have never been my thing. BUT… when I went outside and looked at my nails in the sun… WOW. Simply stunning.

During Halloween I wore China Glaze’s Riveting (one of my favourite polishes ever), and a cheap random orange with Electrify as an accent.

And, finally, the mani I’m wearing right now: A England’s Avalon and Avon’s Green Illusion. I just love them together! Green Illusion has a purple shimmer, so they match perfectly.

Not a pink girl, but…

A few weeks ago I went to the drugstore with my mom. I was looking desperately for a topcoat because mine had died. I bought a Rimmel one, seems nice so far. And, of course, I ended up buying Revlon’s Popular. This is my first Revlon ever, and I’m quite impressed.  It’s a nude jelly pink full of silver glitter (tiny and big ones). It’s the first soft pink I actually like, and I don’t feel like changing it super soon. The silvery accent works so well… This polish is Positivo’s Plateado. Positivo is a sort of indie Argentinian brand. I really like their shades.

Oh well… I better get back to my books. I’ve a nasty exam tomorrow :(

Hace algunas semanas fui a Farmacity con mi mamá. Estaba desesperada por un topcoat porque el mío se había terminado. Me compré uno de Rimmel que hasta ahora va bien. Y, obvio, terminé comprándome Popular de Revlon. Es mi primer Revlon y estoy muy impresionada. Es un rosa nude con glitters plateados chiquitos y grandes. Es el primer rosa claro que de verdad me gusta y no me dan ganas de cambiármelo enseguida. El acento plateado es de Positivo, es una marca argentina que se puede encontrar en varios shoppings. A este lo compré en Unicenter. Me gustan mucho sus colores, pero a veces no tienen variedad cuando voy al shopping. La calidad también es muy buena, el esmalte dura mucho. Recién descubro la web. Voy a ver cuánto cobran el envío xD

Bueno, me voy a seguir estudiando que mañana tengo un examen horrible.
